Edgepoint has created BimaAFYA, a mobile micro-health insurance product targeting the poor population and the informal sector population. It offers a platform to the user to inquire about the product, register to a policy, select an affordable cover, make payment for the premium via mobile money, and access the bimaAFYA benefit wallet via the mobile phone. BimaAFYA is a paperless product from registration to health service access, enabling the user to not have to interact with the insurer at any point.
